NEET(National Eligibility cum Entrance Test) is conducted by NTA(National Test Agency) from 2019 for admission in undergraduate course in m.b.b.s and b.d.a courses in premier medical colleges. The registration process has started from November 1 and November 30 is the last date to apply. One can register on https://www.nta.ac.in the exam will be conducted on 5 may 2019.This exam will be of 3 hours with 180 multiple choice questions out of which only one is correct with 45 question each in botany, zoology, chemistry and physics,4 marks will be allotted for each correct answer and 1 marks will be deducted for incorrect answer.
In last year question paper as per students biology was easy, chemistry was moderate and physics was tough,on analyzing the paper we can observe that 50% of the paper is biology itself so its important to have a strong hold of biology, which most of the students generally have, chemistry is 25% and physics is 25%.so when it comes to clearing cutoff chemistry and physics become crucial.
so,how to score good marks in NEET chemistry?
1]STUDY MATERIAL
a)If you go to any good coaching you can follow their study material along with NCERT books and a good reference book will be sufficient.
b)If you are preparing yourself then go with a good comprehensive book one for physical one for chemistry and one for inorganic along with NCERT.
note-NCERT is extremely important as a reference book also many questions are directly from the text.
2]PRACTICE MAKES A MAN/WOMEN PERFECT
2]PRACTICE MAKES A MAN/WOMEN PERFECT
Practice 40-50 question for chemistry daily, this can be done by choosing questions of different topics or of same topic but it is important to be in touch with the subject.Practicing daily helps you understand the concept, retain the concept and increases speed.
3]GIVING AS MANY MOCK TEST AS POSSIBLE
3]GIVING AS MANY MOCK TEST AS POSSIBLE
Giving mock test helps you analyse your strength and weakness, helps you improve speed, this makes you familiar with the pattern of exam.
4]LAST YEAR QUESTION PAPERS
previous year question papers are a excellent tool to understand your current ability and which portion needs attention,do solve last year question papers within time limit and then check what was cutoff that year and what is your score, find it and improve upon it.previous year question papers are also very important to analyse the important topics from exam point of view.
5]EXAM STATERGIES
5]EXAM STATERGIES
a)solve easy questions first then come to moderate difficulty question and then go for difficult question, try to complete paper before time so that during last time you can attempt question which could not solve in first attempt.
b)Maximizing of your score is more important than your ego satisfaction,in an exam where each number matters it is important to utilize every minute,so don't get stuck to questions which are taking more time than expected, move to the next question and mark it for later when you have dealt with all easy questions
c)Start with biology either botany or zoology whichever you are more comfortable and then proceed for chemistry and then physics. If physics seems most difficult to you be specifically selective for easy ones then medium and then at last proceed to difficult.d)In chemistry you can eliminate wrong answers by intelligent guessing but it comes slowly with practice,so try them when practicing at home so that it can be perfected before final exam.
6]UNDERSTANDING NEET EXAM PATTERN
6]UNDERSTANDING NEET EXAM PATTERN
The exam is of 3 hours with 180 question in which 45 questions is of chemistry,on an average 1 minute for 1 question so the speed factor is very important try completing biology quickly so you can use the remaining time in chemistry and physics.
7]UNDERSTANDING LAYOUT AND IMPORTANT TOPICS
7]UNDERSTANDING LAYOUT AND IMPORTANT TOPICS
In order to score good in chemistry one need to understand the layout of chemistry paper. The paper can broadly be divided into three parts.
1]physical chemistry (about 33% of total question)
2]organic chemistry(about 33% of total question)3]
Inorganic chemistry (about 33%of total question)
so the distribution is quite symmetric but it can change but that change is can be expected to be very small. The distribution of numbers according to topics covered in 11th and 12th can also be seen as
so the distribution is quite symmetric but it can change but that change is can be expected to be very small. The distribution of numbers according to topics covered in 11th and 12th can also be seen as
1]Topics covered in 11th account for almost 50% marks.
2]Topics covered in 12th account for almost 50% marks.
the % of question from 11th and 12th vary year to year so the average is as shown above. Now if you can get an idea of the important chapters and that specifically important topics the score can be improved.so here are listed some of the most important topics chapter wise which can help you excel over others,do practice numerical based on these topics.
